Körber Schleifring inaugurates Technology Centre in Bangalore
Körber Schleifring has inaugurated an office and Technology Centre in Bangalore. The year 2012 saw an increase in orders and turnover for the Schleifring group.
With around 500 million Euro turnover the group could break the previous records. The increase came mainly from Asia and USA.
The success is based on the Schleifring Group's comprehensive range of services which has been further expanded by the individual companies' expertise. The companies of the Schleifring Group were able to significantly increase their innovative ability and efficiency, by systematically sharing expertise, intense cooperation of individual R&D departments and close collaboration of experts in different grinding disciplines - to the advantage of our customers who will benefit from our wide knowledge of applications and efficient solutions for every grinding task.
With its eight powerful corporate brands, the Schleifring Group is the world's largest supplier of grinding machines. As a result, it has established an international market presence which is customer-oriented and efficient. Over 300 contact partners at a total of 22 production, service and sales locations ensure that the companies of the Schleifring Group are never far from their customers.
Though, Schleifring was operating in India since 2007 with their own branch office, the need for further investment into Indian market was seen during 2010-11. A decision was taken at that time to further strengthen the roots of the group in the Indian market by setting up their own Technology Centre. This vision was fulfilled on 18th April when the new office and technology centre was thrown open to the customers and the manufacturing industry in India.
Mr L Krishnan, Managing Director of Taegu Tec India Pvt Ltd was the Chief Guest and Mr Rolf Frei, Consul General of Switzerland was the Guest of Honour for the event.
The inaugural function was followed by continuous live demonstration of grinding of critical and precision components on the cylindrical grinding machine of Fritz Studer and special tools on the tool and cutter grinding machines of Walter & Ewag.
The key objective of this important step was to support the customers and the manufacturing industry of India in a much stronger way, in addition to the already existing activities of sales.
To start with the technology centre is equipped with the following six precision machines from three of their brands, viz, Studer, Walter and Ewag. These are:
- Studer ecoGrinder, universal cylindrical grinding machine
- Studer S33, universal cylindrical grinding machine
- Studer S31, production cylindrical grinding machine
- Walter Helitronic Basic, tool grinding machine
- Walter Helicheck Basic 3, CNC tool measuring machine, and
