TECHNOLOGY
The workpieces to be processed are mounted on disc-shaped carriers that rotate on the polishing table. The entire polishing table oscillates beneath the brush. With a precisely defined contact pressure, a top-mounted disc brush sweeps over the workpieces. Due to the oscillating motion of the polishing table, the rotating workpiece carriers, and the disc brush with adhering polishing compound, edges are uniformly rounded on all sides, and the contacted surfaces are polished.
Various contours, geometries, and surface roughness levels can be achieved by adjusting the following parameters: brush material, brush density, brush speed, contact pressure, processing time, and polishing compound.
