Green hydrogen and electrolysis - Roland Berger Forecast.
Webseminar November 10, 2023, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.: Green hydrogen and electrolysis - current Roland Berger Forecast. (German language)
Just recently, the International Energy Agency underlined the important role of hydrogen. In less than 30 years, global hydrogen consumption is expected to rise from around 95 mtpa today to 430 mtpa. Of this, 80 % is to be green hydrogen from electrolysis. However, the ambitious growth targets are not yet being met at present: for various regulatory, commercial, technological and supply chain reasons, Roland Berger currently expects "only" a cumulative electrolysis capacity of just under 120 GW in 2030 (compared to the 590 GW required according to the IEA).
The web seminar addresses these questions:
1. Which electrolysis additions in which markets and for which off-takers can be expected - as of today - by 2030? And with which electrolysis technologies?
2. what distinguishes announcements from "real" projects? What are the requirements for green hydrogen projects to be investment-ready?
3. what more far-reaching political and regulatory framework conditions need to be created (in Europe) to accelerate the market ramp-up in order to get closer to the targets we have set ourselves?
Markus Kaufmann, Dr. Bernhard Langefeld and Uwe Weichenhain (all Roland Berger) as well as Peter Müller-Baum will speak. The seminar will be held in German. As always, participation is free of charge, to register please click here
