The Future of CNC Machining
50 Years of EMO: Okuma shows numerous premieres on site

Precise, efficient and easy to operate, thanks to intuitive controls. Okuma's CNC machine tools fulfil the highest demands of the manufacturing industry. The company will demonstrate this once again at EMO in Hanover from 22 to 26 September 2025. In Hall 14, Stand D28, visitors will have the opportunity to see more than ten machines in live operation, including exciting European and world premieres, across 960 m².
One innovation not to be missed is the Horizontal Machining Centre MS-320H. It enables the automation of various tasks, allowing extended runtimes without manual intervention. In addition, the vertical table arrangement and continuous chip conveyor ensure high productivity without restrictions. Another advantage is the small footprint and its suitability for small and large batch sizes.
Okuma customers will already be familiar with the Horizontal Lathe LB4000 EX III, but they will now have the opportunity to experience its full configuration versatility for the first time at EMO 2025. During the trade fair, it will be exhibited with milling tools (M), an additional Y-axis, and an optional sub-spindle (W). The latter enables automatic workpiece transfer and complete machining within one machine.
Among the 13 machines that Okuma will present at EMO are several enhanced classics, each demonstrating its advantages in any production environment. These include the Multitasking Machine MULTUS U3000, which can perform even complex machining operations with maximum precision. This is made possible by flexible 5-axis machining on the main and sub-spindles, a large workspace, and an extensive tool magazine that accommodates up to 120 tools. A second turret also reduces cycle times and increases productivity. Various processes will be demonstrated live on the machine at the trade fair booth, including friction stir welding. This technology enables the seamless joining of components, increasing flexibility and productivity by eliminating the need for external processes.
Okuma has several Machining Centres with 5-axis simultaneous machining in its EMO arsenal for fast and high-precision manufacturing processes. These centres perform vertical, horizontal and angular surface machining in a single operation without manual intervention, thus maximising productivity, process reliability and workpiece quality. This can be seen at EMO with the Machining Centre MU-6300V. This 5-axis Multitasking Machining Centre enables high-speed, high-precision, process-intensive machining. Its ample work area allows flexibility when machining a wide range of workpieces. To further increase productivity and efficiency, the machine is also equipped with a seven-station pallet changer. The 5-axis Machining Centre GENOS M560V-5AX produces high-precision parts from various materials using 60 tools and a spindle with a speed of 15,000 rpm, a power output of 22 kW and a torque of 199 Nm.
Efficient automation is also a key factor in the success of one of Okuma's bestsellers. The LB3000 EX III is considered one of the most advanced Horizontal Lathes for the precise machining of individual parts and small to medium-sized batches. The machine's built-in ARMROID automation solution, with an extended gripping range, boosts its productivity even further. The twelve-position turret also opens up a wide range of machining options.
Various Green Smart Technologies also help to decarbonise production. Numerous measures ensure that energy consumption is optimised during use, for example by putting unnecessary components into idle mode or switching them off. In addition, cycle times are shortened through simple customisations, saving energy.
