Innovate Manufacturing
High media interest at the press conference in Bangalore
The third press conference in Bangalore marks the end of the EMO World Tour team’s journey through India. With great interest, representatives of the media followed the event and took the opportunity to talk later. Andres Gruchow, Member of the Management Board of Deutsche Messe AG, Christoph Miller, Head of the trade fair department from the German Machine Tool Builders’ Association and guest speaker T.K. Ramesh Chief Executive Officer of Ace Micronatic took the time to answer every question. For Ace Micronatic, the participation in the EMO Hannover has a tradition. During our conversation he reported that his company exhibited for the first time at the EMO in 1999, back then in Paris. With four machines on approx. 200 m², Ace Micronatic will again be represented at EMO Hannover this year.
With 622 million euros in 2015, India ranks 12th among the most important manufacturing nations. To Germany, for instance, the third-most-important market for Indian manufacturers, machine tools, plus parts and accessories, worth 19 million euros were delivered. Here, the country aims to diversify much more widely in the future, not least in textile machines and energy engineering as well.
In order to modernise the above-mentioned sectors, high-tech machines are essential. “This is why Indian manufacturers need comprehensive information on new solutions for their production operations,” says Christoph Miller of the VDW. Exhibitors at the EMO Hannover 2017 will include representatives from all important vendor nations for India’s industrial sector. Machine tool manufacturers from more than 40 different countries, including over 400 from Asia, will there be spotlighting their production technology, ranging from simple, sturdy and affordable to high-priced high-tech. Both stand-alone machines and concatenated systems will be on show, plus transfer lines and large machines, featuring a high degree of automation. “There will be plenty to see at the EMO Hannover on the topics of Industry 4.0 and automation in particular,” says Christoph Miller. “The EMO Hannover is the ideal platform not only for big investors,” is his explicit message to Indian trade visitors. “We are especially keen to encourage mid-tier users of machine tools to find out in detail what the world of metalworking has to offer.”
We bid farewell to India and look forward to seeing you again in September. The team of the EMO World Tour continues the journey around the world with the next big travel destination: China.
